Given that 94% of drugs that are "successfully" tested on animals go on to fail at clinical trials, what is your stance on the issue of vivisection? What percentage of the research budget on drugs should be made available for looking into humane, alternative ways of testing drugs?

Many of the experienced, veteran British criminals I have interviewed recently for my books and TV documentaries are predicting a vast increase in burglaries, street robberies, muggings etc thanks to the so-called credit crunch. They believe that more and more street gangs will be formed as unemployment rises and that these gangs will inevitably travel outside their "home territory" to seek victims further afield. It is a chilling prophecy. What does your party intend to do to prevent what seems to be an inevitable escalation of the sort of crime that most of Middle England lives in fear of?

Martin Kettle has written in the Guardian about the prospect of a national unity government in this time of economic crisis - www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/feb/06/comment-kettle-labour-politics. My question to the parties is in what circumstances would they participate in such a government?

Please explain why the Electoral Commission donated £100,000 to the Conservative party last year, as part of £1.4m of taxpayers' money given to the party. Did all the parties receive the same amount "to develop long term policies"??
