Biography
Simon Wright is the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman for Norwich South constituency. He lives with his wife, Rosalind, in Eaton.
Simon has been campaigning strongly for Norfolk's health services:
"One of my biggest concerns in Norwich is the financial position of the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and our local health service. The Government must recognise that locally we are paying over the odds as one of the first areas to have a PFI hospital. Ministers must ensure that the hospital gets sufficient support."
Simon Wright is also campaigning to ensure that our environment is protected for future generations:
"Here in Norfolk, we are on the frontline of climate change and rising sea-levels"
At the last general election, the Liberal Democrats finished just 3,653 votes behind Labour. The sitting Labour MP in Norwich South is the controversial former Home Secretary Charles Clarke.
The Conservatives finished in third place last time, and the Greens came in poor fourth place with just 7% of the votes cast.
"It would be a great honour to represent the city in which I live in Parliament," says Simon. "After coming a close place in 2005, I know we have a real opportunity to win here at the next general election."
