My Experience

John Redfern has been active in North Staffordshire politics for over 20 years. For the last 16 years he has been a popular councilor during which time he has dealt with many thousands of individual problems in an effective, efficient and confidential manner.

Prawn into liberal politics in the 1970's John has been a dedicated campaigner on all the great issues of the day. In 2005, John fought Stoke Central constituency where for the first time in over six decades he came second to Labour. Prior to this John was group leader of the Liberal Democrats on Staffordshire Moorland District Council, leading a team of eleven coucilors, as well as being a cabinet member responsible for Information Computer Technology and customer services on the council.

John works part time at Stoke-On-Trent College. He is a member of Straffordshire Wildlife Trust and a keen walker. A member of the Association of Liberal Democrat Councilors, John has also carried out work for the Improvement and Development Agency which seeks to improve the performance of local government.
