Dennis Andrewartha

My Experience

Dennis Andrewartha is a county, district and parish councillor, deputy leader of the party on Gloucestershire County Council, and has been for six years a Lib. Dem. leader on Stroud District Council. Dennis, a popular and sociable Welshman, has lived in the Stroud area for more than 25 years. He retired recently from engineering after working for more than 30 years in the power industry, both in the Uk and in the developing world. He has much experience and strong views on the current problems of environmental resources and sustainability. The projected development of nuclear power research sites in the constituency is a particular concern. Eco-friendly housing and rural transport are other matters on which he speaks with authority. After retiring Dennis became a subpostmaster and owned two village shops. He serves on several local management committees, school governing bodies and community organisations  -  he has a reputation as  a man who gets things done for the people and the community he represents. Dennis aims to increase the party’s local Parliamentary vote substantially; and to raise the profile of the Liberal Democrats in the Stroud area, so that the campaign can be a platform to boost the party’s membership and support base across the constituency.
