Local Liberal Democrat Bridget Fox is her party’s parliamentary campaigner for Islington South & Finsbury.
Bridget has a long record of public service in Islington, including as a school governor, charity trustee, and councillor for Barnsbury Ward 1998-2006. She led the successful campaign to Save Essex Road Post Office.
Bridget has lived in Islington since 1992, first in Highbury, then for many years in Barnsbury and now just off Essex Road. At the 2005 General Election, as the Lib Dem candidate in Islington South & Finsbury, she made history by converting a previously safe Labour seat into a marginal: Labour’s majority is now just 484 votes.
Bridget is an award-winning environmental campaigner and is active in many local groups, including the St Luke’s Timebank, NO2ID, and the North London Fawcett Group. She is secretary of St Mary’s Church, Upper Street.
In her spare time she enjoys music, socialising and exploring historic London.
Bridget’s personal blog is here. You can find her on Facebook and follow her Twitter.
