What will your party do to investigate and stamp out "corruption, dodgy dealing and poor financial controls" by MEPs in the European Parliament, highlighted by Robert Galvin's leaked report into corruption by MEPs claiming expenses? And do you agree with that report having been kept secret for so long?

The Greens are committed to total transparency and probity in all payments they receive. MEPs expenses are gradually becoming more accountable; not least because the Greens have made continuing efforts to promote change and because of the cross-party Campaign for Parliamentary Reform supported by many Members within the Parliament. A number of changes will occur after the next European Elections in 2009.

As of November 2008, the world's population is estimated to be about 6.7 billion. The world's population, on its current growth trajectory, is expected to reach nearly 9 billion by the year 2042. Does your party have any policy on the control of population growth, or does your party believe that everyone can continue to have as many children as they want, even if this means the world's population becomes too large to be supported by the world's resources?
